Waiting

4th August 2016 — a day that became part of the city's collective memory. Mumbai was forced to pause, yet somehow it never truly stopped. I stood at Thane station, watching people, trains, and countless stories unfold before my eyes. Amid the uncertainty and disruption, I witnessed a spectrum of emotions I hadn't known could coexist—anxiety, resilience, kindness, frustration, patience, hope, and quiet determination. These illustrations are a reflection of those moments. They capture what it felt like to wait for things to get better, to wait for news, for loved ones, for a train, for relief—and above all, to wait for hope and happiness. Through this series, I attempt to preserve the human spirit that emerged during those extraordinary hours, reminding us that even in moments of standstill, life continues to move forward.
