The Unfiltered History Tour
Illustration Design for an Award-Winning Augmented Reality Campaign. The Unfiltered History Tour reimagined how audiences engage with contested cultural artefacts housed in the British Museum. Using augmented reality, the project allowed visitors to uncover alternative historical perspectives and hear stories often omitted from traditional institutional narratives. As part of this initiative, I created a series of detailed black-and-white illustrations that formed a key visual layer of the campaign. The artwork was designed to complement the immersive AR experience, translating complex historical, cultural, and political themes into engaging visual narratives. Each illustration balanced clarity, storytelling, and visual impact while remaining adaptable across digital, interactive, and promotional touchpoints. Working closely with the creative team, the objective was to develop a cohesive illustration style capable of supporting a large volume of content while maintaining consistency throughout the user journey. The result was a visually distinctive body of work that helped strengthen the campaign's narrative, enhance audience engagement, and contribute to a thought-provoking experience that connected history, technology, and visual communication.
